ToolGrade exists because most product review sites are built to sell, not to inform. Affiliate commissions drive placements. Sponsors influence rankings. "Best" lists often reflect who paid the most for placement, not which product actually performs.

We built ToolGrade around a different model: a transparent, weighted scoring system applied consistently to every product we cover. Every ToolGrade Score is built from the same five categories — Performance, Value, Build, Ease of Use, and Features — with weights you can see. No hidden criteria. No paid placements.

Our Coverage

ToolGrade covers home tools, garage equipment, generators, pressure washers, and outdoor power equipment. We focus on the categories where buying the wrong product is genuinely expensive — either upfront or over time.

Our Methodology

ToolGrade does not claim to physically test every product in-house. Our scores are built from manufacturer specifications, aggregated owner reviews across major retailers, and published third-party testing data from organizations like Consumer Reports. We tell you exactly what source each claim comes from.

When we have hands-on access to a product, we say so explicitly. When we don't, we say that too.
